Christmas Day

We had several people to our house to eat on Christmas day. I cooked and cleaned til 3 AM the night before. It was worth it though. Everything turned out good. Except when Doug flushed my comb down the toilet. So it wouldn't flush unless you had the plunger in hand. But the food was good. My sister, niece and nephew came, along with Doug, Rose, Billy, Shelly, my mother-in-law, and my mom. Justin, my nephew, was running around the house with Billy chasing him. He stopped in front of Billy and Billy fell, hitting his eye on the corner of the tv stand (which is glass). He cried for so long, wouldn't open his eye. So Doug and Rose left to take him to the emergency room, but he opened his eyes in the van and said he wanted to come back to our house. They came back but he still wasn't in a playin mood. Poor baby. I felt so bad for him. Then when he got home, he started throwing up. I was afraid he had a concussion. But he took a nap and when he woke up he was fine. Later that evening, my step brother and his wife came by and stayed for a visit. It was good to see them. Of course I made pictures.

Now the house is back to normal, the trees are down, the decorations are put away. I always love Christmas, but it's way too commercialized. I'll admit, I'm as guilty as anybody. I'm glad it's over. And I survived! Now I'm dead with a cold, but at least I didn't have it on Christmas. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and I hope you have a Happy New Year.

Christmas Eve

Well, it's Christmas Eve, and we went to Doug's mom's house for the traditional family, it's good to see you again this year get together. We see most of these people only once a year. Nobody ever comes to our house and I have to admit,I'm not one for visiting either. It was good to see everyone and new ones added. But THANK GOD IT'S OVER!! The kids have gone home, and it's so quiet here now :) Now I've started the cooking and we'll start all over again tomorrow, only here. Not as many people though. Me, Doug, my Mom, his Mom, my son Doug Jr., his beautiful wife Rose (who is carrying my new granddaughter, Hannah), Billy and Shelly, my sister Gerry, her daughter Kelli, and her son Justin. I don't know where everybody will sit, but we'll make it. Anyway, as usual, I went wild with the camera. Maybe one day I'll learn how to make the pictures smaller so they won't be so big.

50 Years of Happiness

Tonight, David and Florence Corum celebrated 50 years of marriage and happiness.
The church was decorated beautifully.

Here comes the bride! She couldn't have been any more beautiful 50 years ago.

Mama's Shiner

I've been telling everybody that Mama is an example of what I can do when I get mad. Anybody who knows me knows I would never do anything to hurt my mother. She has loved me and done so much for me in my life. I think anyone who abuses their mom or doesn't respect her should be shot. But I've been having fun with her "shiner". Truth be told, she called me around 5am the other morning and told me she had fallen out of bed. She said her elbow was bleeding and she had a lump on her head. When I got there, she had torn the skin off her elbow and the lump was the size of an egg. I dressed her elbow and put ice on her head. The swelling went down and it didn't look bad at all, but each day it looks worse. Here she is the next day:

My new bedroom suite

Hi everybody. My new bedroom suite came yesterday. I thought I was going to get lost in the bed last night. I don't have king size pillows or a comforter yet, but I've ordered them and they should be on the way. Contrary to what some people have been mislead to believe, we DO NOT have alot of money, and this will be paid for when I get my scholorship check. Evidently some people think I lied to them when I mentioned being short on cash. But never fear, I'm as poor as I've always been. Probably more so now. Anyway, I made pictures of my new stuff (of course). So here goes!!

Final Course Grade B
I guess you've guessed by now that I'm pretty happy about my final grade. I copied and pasted directly from the web and posted it here. Now I'm off for a month. So what did I do to celebrate? I went to the Brown Squirrel and bought a new bedroom suit. I don't know if a king size bed will fit in my bedroom or not, but I'm the proud owner of one now. I found someone who's bed is falling apart, so I'm giving them my old bedroom suit. It's not new, but it's in good shape. Now for the work. Emptying out all the stuff from the drawers and stuff and getting it ready to move out. A few things I forgot to think about: my queen size sheets won't fit it, my pillows are the wrong size, my electric blanket won't fit it. Dang! I'm gonna need to rob a bank just to sleep on it! Oh well, I'm going to finish wrapping Christmas gifts so the kids won't see them when they come over. I'll post again soon. TTFN
